Mediscan is seeking a full time, Speech Language Pathologist to provide services in the Athens, TX area. The Speech Therapist will work with a K-5th grade population in a local Elementary School. The selected Therapist will complete assessments, provide therapy for for Elementary age students.
Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology with Texas license or valid TEA Speech Therapy Certificate; ASHA Certification preferred
Conduct speech and language assessment and consultation in varied setting
Refer students for additional evaluations and consultations as needed
Coordinate the placement for school speech services for Neighborhood School Speech students
Provide consultation and education to parents, caregivers, staff and other professionals regarding speech and language disorders
Interpret and explain test results to Admission, Review, Dismissal committees
Participate on and provide goals and objectives to ARD/IEP committees
Develop lesson plans for students based on their IEPs and curricula
Maintain appropriate documentation, including writing reports, maintaining files, following up with other professionals and parents as appropriate, identifying and communicating with community resources
Regularly report progress to parents
Comply with IDEA and SBOE rules concerning the provision of special education related services for speech and language
Attend meetings and participate in the district's Medicaid initiatives
Keep abreast of current trends in the practice of speech pathology and continue to develop professional skills
