  • Overview

    We are looking for a School Psychologist for a district about half hour east of Puyallup, WA.


    We have two openings - one is for elementary population, one is for high school population.


    This is a full-time (37.5 hrs/week) contracted position for the upcoming 2018-2019 School Session with option renewable.


    School calendar is early September - mid/late June.


    Duties include:

    -Coordination of student assessments referred to special services for learning and/or behavioral difficulties including pre-referral interventions and Multidisciplinary Team assessment

    -Assists building principal and staff in programming and placement of students and monitoring effectiveness of special services interventions

    -Communicates the results of individual assessment and associated interpretation as related to the instructional program to involved individuals

    -Keeps abreast of current trends in the profession and translates appropriate research to practical applications in the areas of behavior mgmt, curriculum, instruction and assessment

    -Provides resources, training, support and modeling of effective instructional strategies and methods to special and general education staff, parents, students, etc.

    -Facilitates the efficient functioning of the multidisciplinary team

    -Assists in providign staff in-service on designated topics related to behavior mgmt, special education issues, effective instructional techniques, etc.



    -Valid ESA Certificate with Psychologist endorsement

    -Knowledge of diagnostic testing procedures, instructional and behavioral intervention methods

    -Knowledge of assessment, data gathering and interpreting techniques, use and/or willingness to learn computers and computerized reporting systems

    -Current knowledge of laws, rules and regulations governing the education of handicapped individuals

    -Effective communication skills and demonstrated strength in developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with general and special education staff, parents, students and community agencies

    -Experience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, language and learning diversity is desired
